Seafront Lighting, St Peter Port, Guernsey

As part of the streetscape strategy , Town Centre Partnership have facilitated the replacement of lighting poles and fittings between the Albert Pier ,Crown Pier, St Julian’s Avenue roundabout and Salerie Corner. This has brought about a long awaited consistency in the lighting provided along the seafront with lighting poles incorporating planters.

Town Centre Partnerhsip facilitated the funding of the all of the festoon lighting with major support from the Douzaine together with Town Centre Partnership and the contributors listed below.

The contributors were The Constables and the Douzaine of St Peter Port,Guernsey Electricity,the Association of Guernsey Charities Xmas Lottery,Longport Group, Premier Developments Limited and Robert Cooney, Comprop, Montague Evans, Deloitte, Ernst and Young and finally Town Centre Partnership.

As three sections are now completed, in 2013 Town Centre Partnership are embarking on facilitating the final section of lighting from Albert Pier to the Slaughterhouse.This will involve States of Guernsey and sponsorship but more importantly owing to the logistics installing lighting Harbourside is impossible.The lighting poles on the centre of the road are concrete and in dire need of replacement.We need to facilitate the funding of not only the poles but then the festoon lighting.The completion of this section will provide an excellant backdrop to visitors enterting the Harbour as the current sections of festoon lighting provide and impressive sea front enhancement.
