In a joint initiative with States of Guernsey Environment Department a report was drawn up regarding the Urban Renewal of St Peter Port which provides a template for action plans to be formulated. This now comes under the environment department.

As there are numerous areas of the Town that need reviewing we decided as a start that we would concentrate on Mill Street/Mansell Street.

The Executive Officer was given information by States Departments which enabled him to produce a schedule of all the properties within the area. He called on every property and spoke to tenants of the retail units and owners of the properties. The regeneration process is linked to development of a number of sites as well as occupancy of a recently completed office block. We will monitor progress including commencement of the known new projects which have planning permission. Trinity Square is to be the next area for review.

The steering Committee comprises 14 people including Trustees of the TCP, States Departments, local architects and estate agents.
